Energy Types and Transformation

Law of conservation of energy States that energy can change form, but it cannot be created or destroyed. That means the total amount of energy stays the always the same.

Energy Energy is a property of objects which can be transferred to other objects or converted into different forms, but cannot be created or destroyed Is capacity to do work.

Type of energy comes from the bonds of atoms and molecules. chemical energy Is a potential energy. Type of energy comes from the bonds of atoms and molecules. Is energy caused by chemical reactions. A good example of chemical energy is food when it is cooked

Related to the movement or flow of electrons which carry a charge electrical energy Related to the movement or flow of electrons which carry a charge Is when electricity creates motion, light or heat. An example of electrical energy is the electric coils on your stove

Is the energy of motion that does the work. mechanical energy Is the energy of motion that does the work. An example of mechanical energy is the wind as it turns a windmill.

nuclear energy Is the energy stored in the nucleus of an atom. Based on that energy the nucleus are held together. That energy can be released when we combine (energy fusion) or split (energy fission) the nuclei. This energy is used in nuclear power stations to generate heat.

radiant (light) energy Is the energy of electromagnetic wave. It is a form of energy that can travel through space. For example, we receive the heat from the sun, which is located very far from the earth via radiation. The sun's heat is not transmitted through any solid medium, but through a vacuum.

Where motion, is caused by gravity's pull Gravitational Energy Where motion, is caused by gravity's pull Example: Like water going over a dam,

sound energy Energy made by vibrations. When any object vibrates, it causes movement in the air particles. These particles bump into the particles close to them, which makes them vibrate too causing them to bump into more air particles.

Is energy that is pushed into motion by using heat. thermal (heat) energy Is energy that is pushed into motion by using heat. An example is a fire in your fireplace.

Can Energy Transfer From One Source to Another?
