The history of camera Prepared by Olga Sokolova Form 11-А

The First Photograph In 1827 Joseph Niepce made the first photographic image with a camera obscura. Niepce placed an engraving into metal plate coated in bitumen, and then exposed it to light. Niepce placed the metal plate in a solvent, then gradually an image appeared.

The Birth of Modern Photography In 1839 Daguerre developed a more convenient and effective method of photography. Daguerre's process 'fixed' the images onto a sheet of silver-plated copper. He polished the silver and coated it in iodine, creating a surface that was sensitive to light.

Negative to Positive Process The inventor of the first negative was Henry Fox Talbot. He sensitized paper to light with a silver salt solution. He then exposed the paper to light. The background became black, and the subject was rendered in gradations of grey. This was a negative image.

The first camera In 1861 the photographer from England T.Setton invented the first camera with a uniform mirror lens. The lens caught focus on glass where by means of mirrors the image was formed.

Evolution In 1904 Ljumers brothers under a trade mark "Lumiere" started to let out plates for the color photo, which steels founders of the future of a color photo.

Evolution In 1923 there is a first camera in which the film of 35 mm is used. Now it was possible to receive small negatives, then from them to select the most suitable to printing of large photos.

Color Photographs In the early 1940s, commercially viable color films were brought to the market. These films used the modern technology of dye-coupled colors in which a chemical process connects the three dye layers together to create an apparent color image.

In 1963 representation about fast printing of photos is overturned by cameras "Polaroid" where the photo is printed instantly after the received picture by one pushing.

Digital camera In 1988 company "Fujifilm" officially put on the market the first digital camera Fuji DS1P where photos were saved on the electronic carrier in a digital form.

Modern functions In 1991 company "Kodak" lets out the digital mirror camera having a dial-up of ready functions for professional shooting in digit. And in 1994 company "Canon" supplies some models of the cameras with an optical stabilization system of images.

Technological boundary To 2000th new amateur digital cameras quickly overcame technological boundary in 3Мп and on the size of a matrix easily compete to professional phototechnics, having the size from 7 to 12 Mpx.

Today’s camera Today our cameras have infinite set of functions, and compete with each other not only innovations, but also design.
