Position in ecosystem Like most subspecies of tigers it is a carnivore and predator it preys on wild deer, pigs and langur. I there is not enough food they also eat smaller wild animals like rabbits and porcupines. They have been known to eat livestock due to lack of natural prey caused by movement of human ranching efforts into the habitats of the South China Tiger.

Why is it endangered It is endangered due to deforestation and hunting which cut the population down to 30-80 and also hunting deer and other wild animals affect it as well because it can’t find food.
