The Biomes of Earth By Tanner and Tariq

Oceans

This aquatic biome is the worlds biggest biome.

The aquatic biome can also be on land sometimes.

Oceans and Wetlands This biome covers most of the world. There is a lot of aquatic life in this biome. Most of the things that live here are fish, plants, and mammals.

Water Pictures Tariq the walking turtle Tanner the albatross Mrs. Blazvick the star

Deserts

The desert biome can be either hot or cold.

The desert biome can also include mountains.

Deserts Deserts get little rain but plenty of sunlight. Deserts can have plants or all sand. Most of the deserts living things store water in their bodies.

Desert Pictures Camel Armadillo Meercat

Forests

The forest biome uses up a lot of carbon dioxide (CO2).

The forest biome is really important to earth.

Forests Most animals in the forest are herbivores and carnivores. Six out of seven continents are made up of forest biomes. Forest biomes can be in cold tropical and warn temperate areas.

Forest animals Male Elk Snowy Egret Bald Eagle

Grasslands

Some of the largest animas live in the grassland biome.

This is were some grasslands are.

Grasslands The grasslands get 25-50 cm of rain each year. There are hundred of insects, birds, and mammals. Natural fires occur can kill trees, but not grasses.

Grassland Animals African Elephant Zebra Female Lion

Tundra

The tundra is mostly mountains and plains.

This plain is part of the tundra.

Tundra The tundra is cold all year round. The only animals that live here are birds and mammals. The animals change their coats in the winter and summer seasons.

Tundra Animals Grizzly Bear Female Moose Gray wolf
