Nurse educators have not exploited use of eLearning Several factors inhibit utilization of eLearning

PURPOSE OF THE PAPER Identify the factors and barriers in utilizing eLearning Find out how Lack of using eLearning affect quality of teaching and learning 3. Establish how nurse educators can be assisted to overcome barriers in using eLearning

DISCUSSION 1. Barriers exist that hinder utilization of eLearning 2. Lack of ICT skills, Lack of resources and cost are outstanding 3. Benefits of utilizing eLearning cannot be over emphasized 4. Some scholars advocate for blended learning

RECOMMENDATIONS Need for Faculty development in eLearning pedagogy 2. Professional development programmes to support faculty 3. Government policies top encourage provision of ICT facilities and Infrastructure especially in rural areas 4. Clear eCompetences required for Nurse educators should be established

CONCLUSION 1. eLearning as an emerging teaching pedagogy 2. Alternative to traditional methods 3. Provides several advantages 4. Nurse educators be equipped with skills of integrating technology 5. Support and access to resources highly crucial.
