Hillsdale Film Festival The Friends of the Hillsdale Library present the Hillsdale Film Festival 2017 Fall Foreign Film Series at the Hillsdale Free Public Library Antonia’s Line (Netherlands) September 25 – 7pm A 1995 "feminist fairy tale,” tells the story of the independent Antonia who, after returning to the Dutch village of her birth, establishes and nurtures a close-knit matriarchal community She looks back upon her life and the generations of family and friends who have gathered around her table. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Rated R. (Running Time 104 minutes) Son of Saul (Hungary) October 30 – 7pm This 2015 drama details two days in the life of Saul, a Hungarian Jewish prisoner working as a Sonderkommando at an Auschwitz Crematorium who finds the corpse of a boy he takes for his son and tries to carry out his impossible deed: save the body and find a rabbi to bury it, all while the Sonderkommando plan their own rebellion. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Rated R.
