Fashion Matters!

This presentation explains the creativity and importance of fashion in the world. It will give an idea of what the second paragraph deals with.

Many people are of the opinion that fashion is trivial and frivolous Many people are of the opinion that fashion is trivial and frivolous. On the contrary, it is an extremely creative art form! However, it’s in a different form than most other art.

Fashion is wearable art.

Artists often say that they do not see the difference between creating a work of art (such as a painting) and designing a piece of clothing. The way they see it, both of these are valid creative acts.

When you put on a piece of clothing, you are wearing a piece of art of whoever designed it.

Getting dressed in the morning will be a lot more fun if you think of the clothes you are putting on as art! And, an outfit is a form of design. You choose the clothes and decide how to wear them and put the outfit together.

French couturier Paul Poiret once said, "I have always liked painters French couturier Paul Poiret once said, "I have always liked painters. It seems to me that we are in the same trade and that they are my colleagues."

“The joy of dressing is an art “The joy of dressing is an art.” ---John Galliano, head designer for Dior

Fashion reflects the era in which we are living. Remember the 1960s Fashion reflects the era in which we are living. Remember the 1960s? This was a rebellious, revolutionary era with the clothes to prove it (think of hippies and mods!).

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only   “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” ---Coco Chanel, 20th century French designer

On the surface, fashion may seem unimportant and trifling On the surface, fashion may seem unimportant and trifling. But like many things, it truly is so much more than meets the eye.

Sometimes gaining a new perspective helps.

Hopefully this presentation helped you do just that.
