SM-1A Nuclear Reactor Characterization US Army Corps of Engineers completed fieldwork for All-Hazards Assessment (AHA) during summer 2011 Final All-Hazards Assessment Report was completed in November 2014 Formulation of disposal options and cost estimates based on the findings of the AHA are being used to support decommissioning funding requests. Initiation of further formal decommissioning planning activities, including National Environmental Policy Act documentation, will only start after funding is secured. Sturgis MH-1A reactor currently being towed to Galveston TX for decommissioning. SM-1 (Fort Belvoir) planning contract awarded in 2015. SM-1A decommissioning would subsequently follow Sturgis and SM-1 decommissioning.
