HISTORY OF THE GUITAR Guitars have been played as far back as 3,000 years ago. The first guitar was played in Ancient Egypt. Then it was played in the by Byzantine Empire. During the Middle Ages it became the lute in Europe. In the 1600s, the baroque guitar was played in Europe. In the 1800’ s, Torres made the first modern guitar.

Parts of A Guitar Every guitar has a body, it is the main part. The neck sticks to the body and it carries the frets and the finger board. The strings on different guitars can be made out of different materials like steel and nylon. The frets help guitarists to play different notes. The finger board has the frets attached to it and it is one of the most important parts of the guitar body. Tuning pegs are like switches that you turn to tune your guitar.

Electric guitar It is solid and it has 6 strings and you can plug it in an amplifier. The styles of music it is popular in is pop, rock, and jazz.
