Math Vocab. The meaning of Percents: A ratio of a number to 100 is called a percent. Percent means per hundred and is represented by the symbol %. Proportion: A proportion is a statement of equality of two ratios. If then ad = bc. Ratio: A ratio is a comparison of two numbers by division.
