What is the Hub? Promoting apprenticeships as a valuable post 16 option Free apprentice recruitment service for employers Launched on 1 April 2016 working with schools in Basildon, Billericay, Brentwood and Wickford Working with employers to develop high quality apprenticeship opportunities Helping training providers to promote existing vacancies directly to students Providing students with a free impartial apprenticeship vacancy promotion and matching service Apprenticeship matching service for summer school and sixth form leavers

What is the Hub? Apprenticeship advice line for parents Raising awareness of apprenticeships with staff in schools Providing parents with impartial advice on the next steps to secure an apprenticeship for their son/daughter Providing school staff with up to date relevant information on apprenticeships Drop in services provided in schools and Basildon and Brentwood town centres Student apprenticeship drop in service

How it works… Apprenticeship information assembly Group work sessions Support with CV writing and interview preparation Vacancy searching and application making On-going support Apprenticeship information assembly delivered to whole year group Interested students complete expression of interest form Group work sessions delivered to students to provide more information and support in getting an apprenticeship Continued help with searching and applying for apprenticeships Help with creating or amending an existing CV Help with preparing for an interview On-going support until you gain an apprenticeship

What can you expect from the Hub? Labour market information Access to local and London based apprenticeships Information on the supply and demand of job types in the local area By working with local and London based employers and training providers directly we are able to offer competitive apprenticeship opportunities directly to you A weekly email apprenticeship vacancy bulletin will be email directly to you A weekly vacancy bulletin

What can you expect from the Hub? Support with CV’s and one-to-one sessions, if appropriate ‘Taster’ sessions and interviews with training providers SEE NOTES ON EMAIL Invitations to recruitment events Interviews coordinated on your behalf

What do we expect from you? Commitment to take personal responsibility and complete regular searches and applications for apprenticeships Provide up to date contact details Respond to calls, e-mails and texts
