Presentation transcript:

Helping children and young people put the pieces back together It is estimated that 1 in 4 women, 1 in 6 men and 1 in 5 children are living in with domestic abuse. It is an issue that is often kept hidden and victims’ family, friends and colleagues may have no idea what is happening at home. It is vital that more people are able to identify the signs of abuse and know how to support someone that is in an abusive relationship.   This training session will help participants to understand domestic abuse and how it affects both adult victims and children who are living with abusive parents or carers. Domestic Abuse Training Who is the training for? This training session would be useful for anyone who comes into contact with adults or children in their work, particularly professions such as; social workers, child and family support workers, teachers, TAs, police officers, children’s centre staff, courtroom staff, employers or HR managers, legal professionals and health care professionals. To gain an understanding of what domestic abuse is and how to identify the signs To gain an understanding of the barriers to leaving an abusive relationship To learn about the difficulties children face when living with domestic abuse To know what to do if someone discloses that they are experiencing abuse Learning Objectives To book or for more information, please contact us on: Phone: 0208 687 1384 Email: training@jigsaw4u.org.uk Website: www.jigsaw4u.org.uk Charity No. 1109167
