Please take a copy of the TRANSFER POLICY, PROCEDURES AND CONTRACT In this session we will be reviewing the INTERDISTRICT TRANSFER POLICY Affecting students who live outside the Fullerton Joint Union High School District.

*Step 1: Obtain acceptance into a Sonora High School program. Sonora Programs International Baccalaureate- Take the qualifying test Upon passing, a letter of acceptance will be mailed from the IB office. Eligibility will be based on continued enrollment in one or more IB courses each year. Possible Pre-IB courses: English 1 Honors, AP Human Geography, H-Biology, Honors Math Agricultural Sciences - Complete Application Digital Media Academy- Complete Application Medical Careers Academy- Complete Application Culinary Arts Academy- Complete Application JROTC– Complete Application

*Step 2: Contact your high school or district of residence The school of residence must be contacted to clarify the correct procedure for that district. Obtain a Request for Interdistrict Transfer from the high school or district of residence. This cannot be done by Sonora

*Step 3: Return necessary forms to your district of residence Complete the Request for Interdistrict Transfer form from your district, attach the letter of acceptance, and return the form to the school or district office of residence. Once approved, the district of residence will send the form to the Fullerton Joint Union High School District. This may take a few weeks.

*Step 3: Return necessary forms to your district of residence Note that these forms require a reason (i.e. special program) for a transfer to be approved, and a letter of acceptance to a special program must be attached.

Interdistrict Transfers are granted at the discretion of the district of residence The program for which the student is applying must not be available in any school in the district of residence. Some districts have a timeline for releasing students; so completion of the forms in a timely manner is very desirable.

*Step 4: Bring a copy of the signed and approved permit to the guidance office Approved permit must be submitted to the guidance secretary in order to pick up the enrollment packet. Return the completed forms and ALL of the items listed on the registration check off sheet to the guidance office.

Interdistrict permits must be renewed every year. Please Note: Your student must be enrolled in the program specified on their permit in order to remain at Sonora Permit students grades, attendance, and discipline records are reviewed annually before renewal Interdistrict permits must be renewed every year.

Office hours are from 7:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Once you have gathered all documents, call Mrs. Hunter in the Guidance Office for an appointment. (562) 266-2007 Office hours are from 7:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
