The Christian’s Responsibility to the Government and his Neighbor Romans 13 The Christian’s Responsibility to the Government and his Neighbor

Romans 13:1-2 “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.” ‎

Isaiah 55:8-9 "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

Please turn to Daniel 2:39-45, 4:34

John 19:10-11, “Then Pilate said to Him, ‘Are You not speaking to me John 19:10-11, “Then Pilate said to Him, ‘Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?’ Jesus answered, ‘You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.’”

Romans 3-5 “For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain,”

“For he is the servant of God an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.” ‎

‎6 “For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.”

“Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.”

So they brought Him a denarius. Matthew 22:17-21 "Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, ‘Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? Show Me the tax money.’ So they brought Him a denarius.

And He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this And He said to them, "Whose image and inscription is this?" They said to Him, "Caesar's." And He said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

“You shall not bear false witness,” Romans 13:8-10 “Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,”

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

Matthew 5:42 "Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.”

Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come back, Proverbs 3:27-29 “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. Do not say to your neighbor, "Go, and come back, And tomorrow I will give it," When you have it with you. Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety's sake.”

Mark 12:28 “Then one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, perceiving that He had answered them well, asked Him, "Which is the first commandment of all?" Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. "

There is no other commandment greater than these. 'And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first "And the second, like it, is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these.

Romans 13:11-13 “This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here.

“So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see.”

“Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.”

“The present age is like a night of sin that has just about run its course. The day of eternal glory is about to dawn for believers.” William MacDonald

Romans 13:14 “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.”
