Clark County School District Computer Acceptable Use Policy

Computer Resources The computer resources at Coronado High School are for the support of academic studies. It is a privilege to have such resources available. Abuses of these resources by any student will result in an immediate referral to the Dean for RPC (Required Parent Conference), possible loss of all future privileges, or possible legal action.

These are the Rules DO NOT change any system or network setting that alters the operation or appearance of the computer. Do not use the network in any way that would disrupt the use of the network by others.

Rule DO NOT use any software or hardware other than that installed by the lab administrator. Installation of software not licensed by Coronado High School is in violation of copyright laws. Do not run any software other than that needed in your course of study.

Rule You are not to look at or use any teacher or other student file. DO NOT tamper with files other than your own. You are not to look at or use any teacher or other student file.

Rule DO NOT vandalize computer hardware, software, or printers. Vandalism is defined as any attempt to physically deface, disable, or destroy computers, peripherals, or other network hardware or to harm or destroy data of another user connected to the system. This includes the creation or transmission of computer viruses.

Rule DO NOT use any computer classroom unless a teacher is present.

Rule DO NOT use outside discs, flash drives, or other devices in the computer lab unless given permission by teacher.

Rule DO NOT use other IDs or passwords. Log in to the network using ONLY your own ID and password. Keep your password private.

Rule DO NOT use the computer for text or graphics not appropriate for school. Polite and appropriate language is expected at all times.

Rule DO NOT cheat. Credit may not be given for work done outside of your own classroom.

Rule Email is not guaranteed to be private. People who operate the system do have access to all mail. Inappropriate messages will result in immediate suspension of privileges. Do not “chat” on school computers.
