Simplified Instruction for use* Evita V300 B Switching on Start-up ventilation An autotest is done then Evita V300 proposes to select: 1. «Current patient» (used the last patient-related settings) or 2. «New patient» If a new patient is admitted, patient category or body weight can be changed (depending of default setting): Body weight: 1. Touch the button for the start-up body weight (now yellow) 2. Using the rotary knob, set the start-up body weight (in cm) of patient 3. Confirm the value Confirm again by using the rotary kno to start the ventilation. Patient category: 1. Touch the button for the desired patient category 2. Confirm with the rotary knob Confirm again by using the rotary knob to start the ventilation. 2 3 1 1 1. Connect Air/O2 2. Connect power supply and switch Evita V300 toogle to I 3. Switch on the ventilator in front panel D F Patient monitoring Good to know C Setting ventilation Measured values: On the screen, check the measured values, on the right and/or on the left of the curves. Others measured values can be displayed by touching «Trends/Data » button. Alarm limits : Touch the button «Alarms». Set the value following this process: If an alarm on FiO2 or flow sensor occurs, calibrate the dedicated sensor. Touch the «Sensors/Parameter» button in the main menu bar and touch the «O2 sensor» or «Flow sensor» button. Touch the «Start» button and confirm with the rotary knob. To activate the NIV mode, the ventilator should be in standby mode (see E). In standby mode, touch «Tube/NIV» tab, «NIV» and confirm with the rotary knob. Touch «Start/Standby» button and confirm to start the ventilation. If you are locked in a setting, read the contextual help in the main menu bar. You can consult the IFU online by clicking on «Help» or « ?» in each dialog window. Finally, for the MV set, touch on TV and look on the green box at the bottom and on the left of the screen. This is the same philosophy for I:E by touching Tins. 1 2 3 4 Key buttons: Nébulization : nebulize during inspiratory phasis and during the period selected. O2 suction: allows a disconnection of the patient without alarm or breath from the ventilator. Touch the «O2 suction» button and confirm with the rotary knob. The oxygen enrichment program starts and lasts for a maximum of 3 minutes maximum. Disconnect the patient. Suck and reconnect the patient. After reconnection, the ventilator continues ventilation in the set ventilation mode except that for 120 seconds a correspondingly increased O2 oxygenation will continue to be delivered for final oxygen enrichment. To terminate the suction prematuraly, touch the «O2 suction» button again. CO2 : main menu to calibrate and activate the CO2 monitoring. Touch the «On» button. Standby: touch the «Start/Standby» button, then «Standby» until «Standby» becomes yellow. Confirm the standby mode with the rotary knob, touch the «Alarm reset» button and confirm. To continue the ventilation, touch the «Start/Standby» button, «Start», and confirm with the rotary knob. The ventilation starts with the previous settings. E The ventilator starts in the ventilation mode set by default. The current settings are displayed at the bottom of the screen (or «Ventilation setting»). Modify the settings, if needed, with the rotary knob (see B) VC-AC (1) (Trigger can be switched off in «Additonnal settings») PC-BIPAP (2) : Pressure-controlled VC-SIMV (3) SPN-VS-CPAP/PS (4) : acces to VS-CPAP and VS-CPAP/APS (Psupp = assistance under the PEEP) * * This document doesn’t replace the Instruction for use of the device. Simplified Instruction for use* Evita V300 1 2 3 Cleaning Mounting the expiratory valve Fitting the flow sensor Infinity ID expiratory valve: * Wash off visible soiling under running water or with commercially cleaning available agents based on mild alkaline compounds. Use cleaning agents in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Always carry out hot steam sterilization of the expiratory valve at (134°C – 273.2 °F) after cleaning and disinfection. Infinity ID flow sensor : Disinfection by soaking in a conventional disinfecting solution. Rinse by water immersion and dry in ambient air (sensor in vertical position). Do not use swabs, spray tap, nor air gun (the filaments of the sensor do not support physical contact). The dual heating technology offers an excellente accuracy of flow measurement. Fit the diaphragm (A) onto the edge of the expiratory valve housing. Make sure the diaphragm is fitted properly. If the flow sensor sleeve (B) has been removed, fit the flow sensor sleeve. Push the socket (A) all the way to the left. Insert the flow sensor (B) with the plug facing towards the device, into the socket and push it fully into the socket. Fit the collection container for the water trap (C). Turn the locking ring (E) as far as possible to the left. Push the expiratory valve into the fitting. Turn the locking ring (E) as far it will go to the right until it clicks audibily into place. 4 Device check Push the flow sensor to the right up to the stop in the flow sensor sleeve (C) of the expiratory valve. The mains power supply and gaz supply are connected. Put the ventilator is standby mode (see E on previous page). Touch the «System check» tab: - The individual test steps in a list is displayed, touch the «Start» button - Answer to the question by touching the YES or NO buttons. - Perform the breathing circuit test by touching the «Breathing circ. check» tab. The breathing circuit check is important as it controls the right mounting of the breathing circuit, expiratory valve and flow sensor. It could be done independantly from the system check. All the tests that have not yet been performed or that were unsuccessful are repeated by touching the « Repeat » button. The values of the last test are displayed until a new test. Medication nebulization Connect the nebulizer to the inspiratory side of of the Y-piece in case of active humidifier use or between the patient and HME filter in case of filter use (2). Connect the inspiratory hose (1) to the medication nebulizer. Connect the nebulizer hose (I) to the nebulizer port (H) placed below the flow sensor and to the left of expiratory valve . The nebulizer could be dismanlted in 3 pieces, see on the picture, and sterilized (hot steam sterilization: 134°C – 273.2°F). 5 * This document doesn’t replace the Instruction for use of the device.
