1 3.14 Microscan QX-870 Scanner Configuration
Go to “IPC Setup” folder menu as shown below and select “Microscan Scanner Setting” folder. 1

2 In the “Microscan Scanner Setting” folder, copy the correct configuration setting folder according to machine type to C:\. 1

3 The following steps can only be done at the machine when the Microscan Scanners have been setup at the machine. Load the files in the folder as shown below. The appropriate scanner configurations are set in these files 1

4 Double click on the selected file
Double click on the selected file. A window will prompt out as shown in Figure Click “No” to select QX-870 scanner. 1

5 Click Switch Model and select New Model.

6 Navigate to “Current” tab and double click on “QX-870” to be directed to the scanner setting.

7 A message box as shown below will appear
A message box as shown below will appear. Check and make sure that the QX-870 scanner is probably connect to COM port and is in POWER ON mode, then click “Yes” to connect to the QX-870 scanner. 1

8 At the page shown below, select “RS-232” as communication protocol and set the “Port” according to the scanner at the tape station on the machine. Leave the rest of the setting as default and then click “Auto Connect” to proceed. Scanner 1 (Tape1) – COM7 Scanner 2 (Tape2) – COM8 Scanner 3 (Tape3) – COM9 Scanner 4 (Tape4) – COM10 1

9 Next, click on the “App Mode” icon at the top of the program.
If connection is successful, status bar (at bottom of program) will show word “CONNECTED” and in Green Light mode. If “DISCONNECTED” word appears, please re-check that the Port setting is same as the hardware COM Port connection. Next, click on the “App Mode” icon at the top of the program. 1

10 Then, select “Communication” tab and navigate down RS232A, RS232B options as shown below.

11 (Leave the rest of the settings as default.)
After that, change the 4 parameters of the RS232A and RS232B com to the values as shown below. (Leave the rest of the settings as default.) 1

12 When done, click the “Send and Save” button at the bottom to send new settings to scanner.

13 Click on the “Send/Receive” button and select “Save to Reader” and then “Send and Save” to save and download the new configurations to the scanner. 1

14 Next, click on “Terminal” button to access to terminal page
Next, click on “Terminal” button to access to terminal page. At the bottom of the page, click on the “Enable Serial Trigger” button follow by the “Send Trigger Character” button. 1

15 Repeat steps 14.4 – 14.17 for all scanners.
Finally, use the scanner to scan a sample barcode to verify that the scanner is functioning properly. Repeat steps 14.4 – for all scanners. 1
