What is a wiki? Wiki is a collaborative web space where you can add or edit content that others have written. They are websites that anyone can edit, change, delete, or add to.

What is a wiki? Wikis can be used many ways in the classroom. They can be used for professional and team collaboration. Team members often share ideas with each other and others interested in the subject. This would be a great tool for us to post information, lessons, and get feedback from each other in an easy method. We could also post PowerPoint presentations, links, files, audio, etc.
What is a wiki? Wikis can also be used to create an online text for you to add to. Students can deliver content using Wikis for assignments. For example, if we are reading a story in class, students could answer questions about the material and then pose questions that they have. Then the teacher or students could respond to their questions and comment on their responses. This is a great way to integrate technology into a reading lesson and allow the students to be participants in their own learning.
Why should I use a wiki? COLLABORATIVE LEARNING Wikis are beneficial because students learn how to publish content and collaborate with each other. Students will learn from each other by editing each other’s papers and seeing the quality of other work. This comparison might cause the students to raise his or her expectations. CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS Students can develop critical thinking skills by critiquing other students’ information and learning how to defend their views when critiqued by other students
Why should I use a wiki? BUILD A CLASS COMMUNITY Working together in a collaborative process helps class members meet one another and build mutually beneficial scholarly relationships. STUDENT CENTERED WORKING Instead of one person leading the conversation, everyone has the ability to absorb and interpret that content. With wikis, students have the opportunity to provide much of the course content.

How do I create a wiki? Choose a wiki website. I prefer http://www.wikispaces.com/ Go in to settings to rename your wiki and choose your skin, or background. Edit your first page, which is your title page.
