Presentation transcript:

Today, we’re going to explore the virtue of Purity.

Ephesians 1:4 “For [God] chose us in Him before the creation of the world  to be holy and blameless in His sight.” -------------------------------------------------------- We are called to… Be Holy, Renew our Minds, and Cooperate

“Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.”

1 Corinthians 6: 13, 19-20 13 …“The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” 19 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;  20 you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Purity, Heaven, and “The Bride of Christ”

As we begin to prepare for Communion today, we will be providing an opportunity for those who wish to seek “cleansing” from impurity before coming to the Table.

Psalm 51:2, 7, 10 2  “Wash away all my iniquity     and cleanse me from my sin.” 7 “Cleanse me with hyssop,  and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.” 10 “Create in me a pure heart, O God,     and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

James 4: 7-8 7 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  8 Come near to God and He will come near to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts,  you double-minded.”

Jeremiah 4:14 7 “Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart and be saved. How long will you harbor wicked thoughts?” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zechariah 13:1 “On that day a fountain will be opened to the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to cleanse them from sin and impurity.”
