1 Aligning Our Hearts to God’s Heart
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves Cor 13:5 Aligning Our Hearts to God’s Heart 2 Corinthians 6:14 – 7:11

2 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers
Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1

3 God’s Heart - Holiness 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. God’s Heart - Holiness Corinthians 6:14-7:1

4 God’s Heart - Holiness 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. John 17: My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.  God’s Heart - Holiness Corinthians 6:14-7:1

5 God’s Heart - Holiness 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
1 Cor 5:9-10 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 1 Pet 2:9 But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. God’s Heart - Holiness Corinthians 6:14-7:1

6 God’s Heart - Holiness 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
2 Cor 6:16-7:1 As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord… And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. God’s Heart - Holiness Corinthians 6:14-7:1

7 Our Heart - Humbleness 2 Corinthians 7:8-11
Even if I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it - I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while - yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what readiness to see justice done. Our Heart - Humbleness Corinthians 7:8-11

8 Our Heart - Humbleness 2 Corinthians 7:8-11
2 Cor 7:9-10 Your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation James 4:8-10 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.  Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. Our Heart - Humbleness Corinthians 7:8-11

9 Our Heart - Humbleness 2 Corinthians 7:8-11
James 1: Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.  Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.  Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. Our Heart - Humbleness Corinthians 7:8-11

10 Our Heart - Humbleness 2 Corinthians 7:8-11
2 Cor 7:8-9 I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while - yet now I am happy because your sorrow led you to repentance. 2 Cor 6:10  sorrowful, yet always rejoicing Our Heart - Humbleness Corinthians 7:8-11

11 Our Heart - Humbleness 2 Corinthians 7:8-11
2 Cor 7:8-9 I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while - yet now I am happy because your sorrow led you to repentance. 2 Cor 6:10  sorrowful, yet always rejoicing Is 6:7 your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for Rom 8:1 there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus 1 John 2:1 I write this to you so that you will not sin But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ Our Heart - Humbleness Corinthians 7:8-11

12 Our Heart - Humbleness 2 Corinthians 7:8-11
Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God! Gal 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Our Heart - Humbleness Corinthians 7:8-11

13 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test? 2 Cor 13:5 God opposes proud, but gives grace to the humble James 4:6, 1 Peter 5:5 Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. John 13:10
