Teams Summer Camps at JPII Fall 7th /8th FOOTBALL, Volleyball, Cheerleading 7th-12th CROSS COUNTRY, SWIM/DIVE Winter Boys/Girls Basketball, Cheerleading INDOOR TRACK, WRESTLING, BOWLING Spring Boys/Girls Soccer, Baseball, Softball, TRACK GOLF, TENNIS ALL CAPS ARE NO-CUT SPORTS Most teams use a student manager(s) Typically have 6-8 Student Trainers

Requirements Coaches Paid Courses—$190 Free Courses—still required CPR, Sports First Aid, Coaching Principles Free Courses—still required Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat Illness, Concussion, Sportsmanship Background Check, Drug Test, JPII Application, Youth Protection: Level 1 – Parts 1 and 2

Requirements Athletes Physical—Good for one year from end of month performed (April 26th at Holy Family, May 3rd at JPII 3 pm, $10 each) Sportsmanship Course and Birth Certificate (one time) Concussion Release, AHSAA Release, JPII Release (yearly) **FORMS CAN CHANGE FROM AHSAA Grades-Eligibility is based on previous 2 semesters 7th grade – all eligible 8th/9th grade – pass five new courses with a 74/70 average 10th – 12th grade – pass 6 courses (4 core) with a 70 average JPII has additional academic requirements (9th-12th grade) Participation Fee 9th – 12th grade: $300/$250/$175 7th – 8th grade: $175/$150/$100 8 practice limit—quitting after makes you ineligible for rest of season, not year $50 fee for quitting after roster deadline No refund if a player quits after 1st contest

Transfers Transfer students In general, if a student transfers from one member school to another, they would have to sit out one year. 1st Exception – Completion of Highest Grade Taught (allows you to continue in feeder pattern) 2nd Exception – Non-Resident 3rd Exception – Bona Fide Move 4th Exception – Home Rule (may return to home school except in overlapping school zones, which most of us are in) Home school students are not eligible at JPII Send individual cases to cpate@jp2falcons.org

Logistics Tryouts Fall and Winter Sports Spring Sports Practices/Games Summer and beginning of practice season Spring Sports Fall Practices/Games As often as possible, practices will be at JPII No outside teams during sports season (Example) List of locations next slide Summer practices (Dates on future slide) Practice from end of school until first fall practice date, non-mandatory ***Middle School students can start June 1 Weight training and conditioning not restricted No practice or competition during Dead Week (July 17-22) Unlimited competition during 3 of 4 week period per sport
