Yo - I Me and the YO sign in Brooklyn, NY

Things we want To say things we want, we say: I want = Yo quiero …. You want = Tú quieres…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6jzl_Oy2IQ

Things we want to do If I want to do something I write: Yo quiero + ________________. (the verb) I want to watch movies. Yo quiero ver películas I want to sing. Yo quiero cantar.

There’s a lot of vocab Comprar (to buy) Usar la computadora (to use the computer) Pensar (to think_) Soñar (to dream) Descansar (to rest) Tener (to have) Trabajar (to work) Tener fiestas (to throw parties) Nadar (to swim) Visitar familia/visitar amigos (to visit family/friends) Llamar (to call) Llevar (to wear, to take along)

Tomar notas (to take notes) Tomar un examen (to take a test) Sacar buenas/malas notas (to get good/bad grades) Buscar (to search, to look for) Vivir (to live) Gastar dinero (to spend money) Pasar tiempo con ___ (to spend time with ___) Amigos/familia Montar en bicicleta (to ride a bike) Patinar (to skate) Caminar (to walk)

Practice on the left I want to use the computer. I want to think. I want to rest. I want to take notes. *everyone does*

If we want to say “You want” all we say is… You want = Tú quieres + _____________. You want to spend money Tú quieres gastar dinero You want to swim Tú quieres nadar.

Practice on the left side You want to skate. You want to visit family. You want to get good grades.

How do you say I don’t/ you don’t want It’s a little trickier than “me gusta”. Although, you still just add “No”. Only this time we put the no in the middle. Here’s the example: Yo (no) quiero ________________. Tu (no) quieres________________.

Practice You don’t want to read. I don’t want to spend money. You don’t want to work.

tarea Tonight we have the worksheet “Things We Want To Do”. Make sure both sides are completed by tomorrow.
