Who am I I am Colombian ( but also Swiss). Teacher and parent involved for more than 13 years with ZIS. Three children graduated from ZIS. Post graduate studies in the Spanish language Masters degree in teaching Spanish as a second language. Examiner of the European Spanish exam DELE in all levels (A1-C2). Teacher of Spanish IV, AP Spanish (SP5),IB Language and literature and AB Initio (SP1).

METHODOLOGY Organization by thematic units : Families and communities, Science and technology, Contemporary life, Personal and public identities, Global challenges, Beauty and Aesthetics. Also, Spanish and Latin American culture, history, geography, people. Practice of the four language skills in each unit. Reading and listening comprehension, oral and writing expression. Practice of basic grammar concepts Rules of syntax, conjugation of verbs, expressions. Practice of basic vocabulary Nouns, adjectives, verbs, prepositions, etc. Also spelling and pronunciation.

METHODOLOGY Homework for each class! Vocabulary and/or grammar quiz every other week Test chapter every month Explanation and practice of grammar exercises in class Interesting lessons (videos, audios, magazines, podcasts, authentic materials)

IB PROGRAM DEADLINES 2016-2017 Mock exams, oral and written January 29- 30 2. Written assignment. Cultural comparative essay free topic. 350 words. Mid March 3. Oral exam. 30 minutes, 3 sections Late March Written exam. Paper 1 and paper 2 Mid May 3 hours.
