Intel® Teach Elements Designing Blended Learning Enhance student achievement, student engagement and personalized learning. Designing Blended Learning is an interactive e-learning course that helps students learn, at least in part, through online delivery of content and instruction with some element of student control over time, place and /or pace. What students learn online informs what they learn face-to-face and vice-versa. Futhermore, if students have control over their pace, this control often extends to the entire subject that is blended, beyond the online learning portion of the coursework.

5 Modules: 1-3 hours of e-learning each Course Structure Module 1: Blended Learning Overview Each Module has 3 to 6 Lessons Module 2: A Blended Learning Framework Lessons include 3 types of activities 1. E-learning: learn concepts in interactive tutorials Module 3: Tools and Resources for Blended Learning 2. Action Planning: apply concepts to one’s own classroom Module 4: Assessment and Blended Learning 3. Facilitated Discussion: share ideas and give feedback on action plans Module 5: Blended Learning and Implementation Module 1Blended Learning Overview Module 1 explores how blended learning benefits students. Teachers will become more familiar with essential features of blended learning and examine a variety of blended learning approaches by exploring different blended learning classrooms.   Module 2: A Blended Learning Framework Module 2 supports teachers in designing blended learning in their classroom.  Teachers learn about a framework for planning blended learning and begin to design a blended learning experience for their students. Module 3 Tools and Resources for Blended Learning Module 3 explores how technology fosters student communication and learning in a digital environment.  Teachers learn about specific tools and how they can become integral components of their blended learning classroom.  In addition, they explore professional resources to support and enhance teaching in a blended learning environment. Module 4: Assessment and Blended Learning Module 4 explores ways to integrate assessment into a blended learning environment. Teachers also explore the opportunities and challenges for effective assessment. Module 5: Blended Learning and Implementation Module 5 explores practical methods and considerations for implementing blended learning in the classroom.  Teachers learn how to support and prepare both students and parents for their transitioning roles.  They also explore classroom management strategies that support active learning in a blended classroom. Teachers learn specific strategies for inquiry as part of any science learning, regardless of the science discipline, to engage students

A Substantive Post… Means adding something of substance to the discussion - your perspectives and ideas, examples from your work or life experience, questions, etc. "I agree," for example, would not constitute participation since it does not add anything of substance to the discussion. For best results, log in and participate several times (at least 2-3) each week.

Ways to Participate E-learning Action Planning Facilitated Discussions

Discipline Perhaps the most important thing I have learned about taking or teaching online courses is that being a successful student or teacher is an exercise in discipline. You have to be self-motivated to get work done
