Leveled Literacy Intervention Overview

Which Students Benefit? The lowest achieving students, tier 3 English Language Learners Students identified with intensive needs.

How Does It Work? Small groups (3 in primary, 4 in intermediate) 30-40 minute lessons Highly structured, routinized lesson format Home and classroom connections Used with fidelity, in 18-24 weeks most students can be brought to grade level

Program in a Nutshell System of Colors correspond approximately to the following grade levels. (Keep in mind the wide variation in students’ literacy needs.) Orange: K-1 Green: 1-3 Blue: K-3 Red:3-4 Gold: 4-5 Purple: 5-6 Teal: Secondary
