Session Objectives By the end of the session participants will have: Reviewed the required components of M&E plans (for Food for Peace awards) Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan

M&E Plan Requirements Submit full length M&E plan to FFP 60 days after this workshop Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan

M&E Plan Objectives Illustrate how project will measure progress toward/achievements of goals and purposes Clarify M&E requirements Establish plans for data collection, analysis, use, and quality assurance Provide an M&E work plan Outline M&E roles, responsibilities, and capacity-building strategies Serve as the project’s institutional memory for M&E Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan

Foundation M&E Plan Components Theory of Change A process and a product A theory of change describes a process of desired change A product that contains a set of hypotheses and critical assumptions that make up causal pathways of change needed to bring about a desired long-term goal More on this later… Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan

Foundation M&E Plan Components Logical Framework A rigorous methodology used for project design that focuses on the causal linkages between project/activity inputs, outputs, and desired outcome (or purpose) Distinct from ToC in that LogFrame focuses on project strategies and activities More on this later… Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan

Indicators M&E Plan Components Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT) Awardees’ primary tool to track, document, and display performance indicator data Mirrors LogFrame At least one indicator for each LogFrame component Captures all required FFP and Mission indicators, plus project-specific indicators that will be reported to FFP Use FFP template More on this later… Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Plan
