The Global Challenge at Ryerson University Information Session

What is The Global Challenge? Opportunity to learn more about a social or environmental issue you care about and present your findings to the world. You will map the problem – research what is causing it, what solutions have been tried, who is already working in this space, and where there are gaps – and then create a visual map or chart. Not a traditional business plan competition! It is run by the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, with universities from five continents each running their own Challenge. You will compete first at Ryerson University with local teams, then nationally at the Canadian Final in Calgary, and then at the Global Challenge Final event in Oxford, UK.

Key Dates By December 20, 2016 – Register your team & topic at www.oxfordglobalchallenge.com January 21, 2017 – Half-day workshop at Ryerson (SLC 514, 11am- 4pm) to assist with resources, guidance, and proposal development By February 6, 2017 – Submit your final materials for review February 18, 2017 – Pitch Competition (Launch Zone, 3-6pm) and selection by judging panel. Winning team from Ryerson will be invited to the Canadian final competition Late March 2017 – The Canadian final competition. April 30-May 1, 2017 – The Global Challenge Final event held at the University of Oxford, UK. Teams from all over the world will pitch for the three top prizes
