Growing up The Human Life Cycle

Which picture do you think should come first? Look at the pictures below. They show people of different ages. Some are young and some are older. Can you put them in order, starting with the youngest? Which picture do you think should come first?

This is the correct order. baby child teenager Elderly person adult

This is called ‘The Human Life Cycle’

baby A baby needs a lot of help so it can survive and grow. This baby is about 1 year old and has just learned to walk.

child A child still needs a lot of help to be able to survive. This little girl is about 6 years old and goes to school.

Teenagers are able to do many things without help. Teenagers are learning to be grown ups and think about what they will do when they are adults.

Adults go to work and look after their children. Adults are very busy people and have to fit in lots of work throughout their day.

Elderly people like to keep busy! This lady is going to Bingo! elderly person Elderly people have worked hard during their lives. Now their bodies are getting tired and need to rest more. Elderly people like to keep busy! This lady is going to Bingo!

So, remember……… This is called ‘The Human Life Cycle’
