Diet and Exercise Plans

2 Lesson Objectives: To be able to design a diet and exercise plan for:
A child An adult An elderly person

3 Starter Activity Write down on a post it note, how many calories you think a child (age 8) would need each day… Now do the same for an adult And for an elderly person (e.g. 70 yrs.)

6 List the foods with 200 Calories:

7 Complete a Diet and Exercise Plan for:
A 9 year old A 25 year old A 75 year old

8 Exercise: Doing the following exercise for 30 minutes, will burn these calories: Aerobics 150 Cycling 175 Dancing 150 Walking 100 Football 190 Climbing Stairs 160

9 Preparing for your assignment…
The first assignment will require you to: Complete a task all about nutrients / healthy, balanced diets. Plan a diet and exercise regime for a teenager. Research, and write about, how the government encourages people to be healthy. (Information campaigns etc.)
