Symbolism

In your notes finish this line.  My love for __________ is like a zit because…

Symbolism  Symbol is an object, person, place or experience that stands for something else.  It is tangible but represents the intangible

Connections  Symbolism connects the intangible to the tangible  Love (intangible) connects to zit (tangible) and helps us understand how we feel about

Intangibles – something you can’t see or touch

Tangibles – something you can touch and see

Now connect an intangible to a tangible  (intangible) is like a (tangible) because  Example: Hope is like a box of Cocoa Puffs because even if you accidentally rip the bag when you open it there is still chocolate inside.
