Establishing a CAN Network Utilize CEC’s Resources to get started (i.e. Setting up a listserv) Learn CEC’s positions on various public policies Revisit civics 101

Building a CAN Network Identify members who are politically active or interested in politics Identify members who are leaders in the field Communicate regularly and effectively Promote grassroots advocacy at unit, community meetings

Organizing Your Network Establish a schedule (e.g. every Friday send CEC’s Policy Update) Larger states could have regional coordinators Manage traffic

Maintaining Your Network Check with CEC to obtain the latest contact list Become a resource Share resources Develop relationships with active members Provide members with action they can take/ways to participate
