The Nitrogen Group  All the Elements in the Nitrogen group (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Arsenic, Antimony, Bismuth) are in this group because each one’s last shelf of Electrons end with five electrons.

N-Nitrogen  Nitrogen was founded in 1772 by Daniel Rutherford. The English word nitrogen entered the language from the French word nitrogène. Nitrogen is a colorless, odorless, tasteless element.  Did You Know: Nitrogen gas makes up 78.1% of the volume of the Earth's air. Nitrogen is responsible for the orange-red, blue-green, blue-violet, and deep violet colors of the aurora.

P-Phosphorus  The discovery of phosphorus is credited to the German alchemist Hennig Brand in Phosphorus got its name because it glows in the dark. "Phosphorus" is from the Greek words phôs (light) and phoros (bearer), meaning "bringer of light," and the ancient name for the planet Venus when it appears before sunrise. Its symbol is P, from phosphorus  Did You Know: Phosphorus is used to make safety matches, tracer bullets, incendiary devices, pesticides, pyrotechnic devices, and many other products.

As-Arsenic  It came from Greek word arsenikos, meaning "masculine" or "potent". Albertus Magnus is believed to have been the first to isolate the element in Arsenic became a favorite murder weapon of the Middle Ages, arsenic poisoning often went undetected.  Did You Know: It is used in combination with other material, poison gases and insecticides, and is well known from former use as a rat poison. Arsenic is used in ammunition manufacturing because it helps to create harder and rounder bullets.

Sb-Antimony  Antimony was known to medieval alchemists, and the date of its discovery is generally accepted to be around The name "antimony" comes from two Greek words: 'anti' meaning not and 'monos' meaning alone, from the observation that the element is rarely found natively. The symbol for antimony, Sb comes from the Latin word Stibium, which was derived from the Greek name for the Stibnite powder used as a cosmetic  Did You Know: The metal and its compounds also used in batteries, bullets, cable sheathing, flame-proofing compounds, glass, ceramics, paints, and pottery. Antimony and many of its compounds are toxic.

Bi-Bismuth  Bismuth comes from the German words for white mass, Weisse Masse. Bismuth, which has been known since ancient times, was often confused with lead and tin. Bismuth was first shown to be a distinct element in 1753 by Claude Geoffroy the Younger. Pure bismuth is a white, brittle metal with a slight pink color. Bismuth is usually mixed with other metals.  Did You Know: Was used in Ancient times and used by the ancient Asians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and Chinese. Bismuth is used in fuses, fire detection and in magnets.
