ESPLOST  On September 19, 2006 the voters of Chatham County voted to approve an Educational Special Local Option Sales Tax (ESPLOST)  Where do we go from here?  What’s been done?  What’s to be done?

ESPLOST What’s been done?  Started meeting with internal stakeholders. Guiding Coalition Superintendent’s Council Various Departments  Meetings with external stakeholders Community Organizations Chatham Municipalities

ESPLOST What’s been done?  Started developing RFP for Contract Management Looking at RFP’s from other School Systems and Governmental Agencies Introductory Meetings with Interested Firms Internal Meetings regarding scope of requested work

ESPLOST What’s to be done?  Finalize RFP

Guiding Principles  Provide District-Wide Academic Technology upgrade  Provide opportunity for significant debt reduction  Provide a revenue stream for facilities which is approximately 38% funded by visitors of Chatham County

ESPLOST Update  Staff reviewed entire project list and prioritized schools by each category (Electrical, HVAC, Roofing, etc…) to assess where the greatest needs were in the district for upgrades, additions and modifications.  Safety and Security remained a top priority
