Youth AssessmentPlanningExecute

THE BOY SCOUTS JTE FORMS Tangible measurements based on things you are probably already tracking

Using the Program Assessment Based on the criteria for the upcoming year. – Training Records – Calendar – Advancement Summary – Previous year Charter Demographics – Leadership and Member Roster Identify opportunities

Using the Program an Example Assessment Following the form, the unit determines that they score low in the area of Retention on JTE. Scoutmaster identifies that older scouts want high adventure and backpacking outings

Using the Program Planning Meeting with: Unit Leader Committee Chair Charter Organization Representative Unit Commissioner Other Unit Leaders that can add value to the planning process

Using the Program Planning Meeting Agenda Review Assessment Create six month plan. Goals based on the upcoming JTE Develop action plans Identify Responsibilities Establish target dates

Using the Program an Example Planning Review – determines Retention can be addressed Goal Creation – A backpacking trip will conducted by the older boy patrol Assistant Scoutmaster during the first quarter.

Using the Program Execute the plan Maintain accountability Update as needed

Using the Program an Example Execute the plan Unit identifies that the adults don’t feel comfortable leading this type of trip – Unit Commissioner brings district training and volunteers to help with the outing Backpacking trip occurs with ASM in a learning role.

Why does JTE Change? Benchmarks Gold status = Top 10% Silver status = % Bronze status = % As units excel in an area the requirements become more challenging Requirements not driving unit excellence are dropped or modified
