 Preparatory Phase: Coordination & Support Action  Total budget: 24 MEUR  Support: Up to 4 MEUR  Opening: 15 March 2016 – Deadline 22 June 2016  Eligible: RIs which enter the active project list of the ESFRI roadmap in 2016  Proposal consortia should involve all stakeholder necessary to:  move the project forward  take the decisions, and to make the financial commitments, before construction can start Topic INFRADEV (CSA) The presentation shall neither be binding nor construed as constituting commitment by the European Commission

 Complete final technical design underlying cost baseline and detailed financial planning  Budget estimates necessary for funding agencies to establish their own medium- and long-term financial planning  legal and financial agreements (including site, governance, internal rules, financing) finalised (e.g., through a Memorandum of Understanding)  IMPACT: Funding bodies are able to take funding decisions and to conclude legal agreements necessary for the construction of new research infrastructures Topic INFRADEV (CSA) The presentation shall neither be binding nor construed as constituting commitment by the European Commission

 Support to Early Phase: Research and Innovation Action  Total budget: 8 MEUR  Support: Up to 2 MEUR  Opening: 15 March 2016 – Deadline 22 June 2016  Eligible: RIs entering the ESFRI roadmap in 2016 as emerging projects Topic INFRADEV (RIA) The presentation shall neither be binding nor construed as constituting commitment by the European Commission

 scientific, technical and conceptual work e.g.:  drafting of architecture and engineering plans for the construction  creation of prototypes  plans to coherently integrate the new infrastructure into the European landscape of related facilities  estimated budget for construction and operation  plans for an international governance structure  planning of research services to be provided at international level  procedure and criteria to choose the infrastructure site  IMPACT: Policy bodies at the national, European and international level have a sound decision basis to establish long-range plans and roadmaps for new RI of pan-European or global interest Topic INFRADEV (RIA) The presentation shall neither be binding nor construed as constituting commitment by the European Commission

 Evaluation of Proposals equal as in other H2020 RI calls  Strong involvement Commission, ESFRI and other relevant stakeholders in monitoring progress and in supporting when necessary projects to overcome obstacles  Emphasis on deliverables in time and quality that will allow the projects move forward to construction or to an increased maturity of proposal suitable for being included in the ESFRI Roadmap  PP should also include plans for a transition phase (including formal basis and estimated budgets) between end of PP and establishment of RI POINTS OF ATTENTION The presentation shall neither be binding nor construed as constituting commitment by the European Commission
