| MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR WWTP SLUDGE TREATMENT.

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING SERVICES IN THE FIELD OF FINAL SOLUTIONS FOR SLUDGE ORIGINATING FROM THE PROCESS OF TREATING VARIOUS TYPES OF WASTE WATER Consulting in the design of WWTP plants with final treatment of the final sludge using MID-MIX technology up to the final product – Neutral, inert for the environment and with reuse value WWTP facility with third degree of wastewater treatment (mechanical and biological treatment, removal of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, with permanent solutions for the final sludge) WWTP project implemented in accordance with SBR technology: - discontinuous procedure of biological treatment of mixed waste water / 4 reactors / - each reactor represents an independent technological unit - SB-reactors operate using the principle of active sludge

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING Phases of the SBR process Filling the reactor with mixing and aeration Filling the reactor with mixing and aeration End of the filling phase Further reaction with alternating mixing and aeration Sedimentation Decanting purified water Removal of excess sludge

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING Sludge processing Excess sludge created in SB-reactors due to the biological decomposition process is pumped and transported by a pressure pipeline to the sludge silo, where it is accumulated, thickened, aerobically stabilized and dehydrated by centrifuge Further sludge treatment with cca. 25% of dry matter is undertaken in the MID- MIX plant up to the final product – neutral with > 85% of dry matter

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING WHAT IS THE MID-MIX ® PATENTED PROCEDURE MID-MIX® is a physical-chemical process involving the reaction of waste molecules with additives based on calcium CaO and Ca(OH)2 producing a new product the SOLID INERT POWDER – NEUTRAL. MID-MIX® is a technological procedure for rendering various industrial waste inert, and applied to other waste as well, produced in industrial and communal waste generators. The MID-MIX® technological procedure final products are only NEUTRAL and water steam. The MID-MIX® technological procedure is recognized in EU states, where it is listed as a BAT TECHNOLOGY – best available technologies not increasing the costs of waste management and not polluting the environment.

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING MID-MIX ® technology is perfectly adapted to the treatment of waste, formed after waste water processing: sewage sludge, bio- solid matter, concentrates of landfill leachate waters MID-MIX ® process is characterized by a permanent, rapid, irreversible and efficient transformation of waste into environmentally acceptable material with reuse value In addition to the expensive and dangerous systems for thermal drying of waste, MID-MIX ® plants do not use fossil fuels (gas, oil, etc.) in sludge treatment, only quicklime (CaO) MID-MIX ® technology reduces the toxicity of waste, provides for reducing the toxic classification of sludge, providing considerable savings in logistics and material expenses

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING With all types of waste water treatment plants, WWTP, sludge is the final product that needs to be disposed of in an environmentally acceptable and safe way. Sludge, as such, is still an environmentally problematic material that cannot be deposited at the municipal landfill without further treatment. MID-MIX ® is a characteristic process of sludge treatment in the waste water treatment process and enables the use of the final product Neutral, as a raw material (cement production, prefabricated concrete elements, road beds, etc.) or to be safely deposited at the municipal landfill in accordance with EU regulations, thereby fully eliminating any further hazards to nature and the environment.

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING The MID-MIX ® procedure for WWTP sludge treatment consists of the following technological phases: Reception of sludge from WWTP to the MID-MIX plant Transport of sludge to pre-tank with homogenization of processing material and transport to MID-MIX reactor Addition of calcium-based reactants CaO and Ca (OH)2 Exothermic process reaction with waste dissociation in the processing Vacuum-gaseous encapsulation and waste transformation Gas evaporation with particle filtering and gas washing Solidification of material Storage of Neutral for further use Disposal (use) of Neutral

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING MID-MIX technology Storage of sludge after centrifugation in the sludge tank

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING MID-MIX technology Sludge transport to the reactor units

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING MID-MIX technology Addition of reactants Ca(OH) 2 and CaO Exothermic process reaction Dissociation Vacuum-gaseous encapsulation Evaporation of water steam and particle filtering Solidification of all material

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING MID-MIX technology Neutral stabilizer – extension of the oxide- reduction reaction time with cooling of the final product

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING MID-MIX technology Packaging Neutral into jumbo bags and/or cistern tanks

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING NEUTRAL The end product of MID MIX ® technology is a white-gray to gray-brown powder, of a low density with express hydrophobic and pumpable properties, representing inert-harmless material according to the EU waste categorization, with reuse value NEUTRAL has the following characteristics: water impermeable at a range Of 2.0 ∙ > к > 1.1 ∙ m/s, representing practically a hydrophobic material, the specific density of neutral is below 1 g/l (0.735 –0.965). NEUTRAL floats on water, does not react and does not mix with it.

MID-MIX ® in solving WWTP sludge – block diagram Step 1 Reactor 1 Adding calcium additives Step 2 Reactor 2 Physical-chemical process Step 3 Neutral production Step 4 Step 5 Transport of Neutral for reuse MID-MIX ® Plant WWTP

Material balance of solving sludge from WWTP – block diagram Step 1 Reactor 1 Start of physical-chemical process: sludge+calcium additive Step 2 Reactor 2 Physical-chemical process Step 3 Neutral production Step 4 Step 5 Transport of Neutral for reuse and final disposal MID-MIX ® Plant Unloading waste sludge 10 tons of sludge + 3 tons of CaO 10 tons of sludge per hour

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING MID-MIX ® plants are modular and designed in nearly all capacities depending on the waste to be treated and the required free space This compactness allows MID-MIX ® plants to be directly connected to the outflow pipeline of waste sludge from waste water treatment plants

MID MIX ® TECHNOLOGY FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE RECYCLING A MID-MIX ® plant is capable of treating: 30,000 tons of sewage sludge per year, 8 hours per day and requires a surface area of only m 2 This avoids risks and additional transport expenses compared to other renowned solutions offered on the market.
