West Side Story Zeffirelli Version Lhurmann Version

This adaptation of Romeo and Juliet is highly recommended, since it is a huge Broadway musical success. The difference between this version and the others is: This is also a modern adaptation which involves street fights and gangs from different cultures. This version is more censored, since the only clue which shows us Tony and Maria slept together is both of them waking up together the next morning. This version of Romeo and Juliet is a Broadway musical. Riff embodies both Mercutio and Benvolio. Maria’s brother serves as both Juliet’s father and cousin.

This movie is based in the play of Romeo and Juliet but it’s not suggested for kids. This is due to the overt nature of certain scenes. This movie is also antiquated, having a huge difference with the other ones: In this movie the director should have edited the intimate scenes between Romeo and Juliet, making it less explicit. This is a very old movie that uses swords instead of guns. The director missed a balcony scene very important that could have had a great impact in the movie. Unlike West Side Story this is not a musical, the actors don’t use the original script of Shakespeare, while this version uses parts of the actual play.

This movie is extremely recommended, because it’s based in the Shakespearean play, Romeo and Juliet. The difference between this movie and the others is: This adaptation is a more modern version that uses guns and other innovations. This one is a more reserved movie than the Zeffirelli version because in the part when they sleep together they don’t go wild. This movie is also more exciting because unlike the other films, they show a different balcony scene, representing that they cannot be together and need to be separate.

The movie rankings are the next: 1.Lhurmann Version 2.West Side Story 3.Zeffirelli Version

There are differences in this movies because, west side story wanted to impact the audience, Lhurmann version was made in an actual realistic version and Zeffirelli version wanted to make it as Shakespearean times. This differences are very important because afterwards, one of them results more entertaining than the other ones.
