5 Task 1: make notes on the following information Diegetic sound If the sound is part of the narrative sphere of the film it is diegetic. For instance, if a character in the film is playing a piano, shoots a gun, or turns on a CD player, the resulting sound is "diegetic." Non-diagetic sound If, on the other hand, music plays in the background but cannot be heard by the film's characters, it is termed non-diegetic What kind of sound did we study in our starter? Can you suggest some diagetic sound to match each of the three pieces of music we heard?
