Bell work Based on your chapter 4 reading, or by using your pone, reword and answer the following questions: 1.What was the Half-Way Covenant? 2.What was the main reason for the Salem Witch Trials? 3.What social class did most of the women that were hanged come from?

Answers 1.The Half-way Covenant allowed non members to join the church with a partial membership. The goal was to increased church attendance. 2.A group of young girls accused some older women of bewitching them. 3.Most of the women killed during the Salem witch trials came from the upper class.

Answers 1.Many settlers died young in the Chesapeake region due to diseases such as malaria and dysentery. 2.Africans were immune to European diseases, did not know the land and spoke many languages; making them easier to control. 3.Some people were afraid to grow corm because the fields would be used as hiding places for Tribal ambushes.
