As we come together to plan our National School Sports week (20-24 th June 2016 – you will find our more in assembly this week) we remember that everyone in our community is a unique gift from God worthy of respect and kindness. Being a winner means more than just coming first, to be a winner is to step up to be the very best we can, to do the best we can and to treat other people as we’d like to be treated ourselves.

You will either be creating a banner for your house or producing individual (or paired) posters which you will have on National School Sports Week (20-24 th June 2016) and Sports day (Monday 27 th June 2016) to support your team. You can be as creative as you like. Here are some ideas of what to include for you:

BANNERS

Team Logos/names

House Mascots and symbols

Flags

God, let me play well but fairly. Help me to learn something that matters once the game is over. Let competition make me strong but never hostile. Always let me help my opponent up. Never catch me rejoicing in the adversity of others. If I know victory, allow me to be happy; if I am denied, keep me from envy. Remind me that sports are just games. If through athletics I set an example, let it be a good one.
