Let’s learn about me!

My name is Kayla. My hometown is Texarkana, Texas where I work as a Merchandising Specialist at Books-A-Million. My interests include reading, writing, and learning about literature. I also enjoy being a mother to my 2 year old daughter and watching her learn and grow each and every day.

I went the same public school from K-12. One experience I strongly remember from school was when I was in the 6 th grade. “Life is too short to struggle with trivial things. Our class took an end-of-year trip to a small water park. While we were there, one of our fellow students lost her life. She impacted my life because she was one of the only students who stood up to bullies who picked on me and other students. She will always be a voice in my head saying it is okay to be who you are.

Once completing my degree in Education, I hope to become a high school or college English teacher. I have always been fascinated with literature. I am also an aspiring writer myself. I hope to publish my own works in the future as well.

A Masters Degree in Education will address the workings and fundamentals necessary for me to become an English teacher.
