noun, adjective, verb, adverb From 8 parts of speech 4s are base words and other 4s are subsidiary words. The Root or base words are noun, adjective, verb, adverb.The subsidiary words are pronoun, preposition, conjunction interjection. Subsidiary words are not be changed but others can be inter changed.

Generally we make new words or we can inter change a word by adding letter(s) or words before or after a word. These is called derivatives. There a re two kinds of Derivatives. Primary Secondary Derivatives Prefix Suffix Derivatives

It indicates part of the meaning of the whole word.Example:- Dis = not ; I am displeased by your words. A prefix is group of letters at the beginning of a word. Prefix; dis = not dis Mina disagrees with Rina. dis Matin dislikes his sister’s activities. Use of prefix

Prefix; hyper = extreme/excessive hyper Mina is hyper active hyper Matin is suffering from hypertension.

Prefix; anti = against/ opposed to Mina does not have many friends because she is an antisocial person. Matin has got antibiotic because he has cold.

Prefix; de = change de Mina is drinking some water because she is feeling dehydrated. de Matin has debugged his computer.

. Prefix; il, in, im,ir = not il To carry on a gun is illegal. im There is too much noise, impossible to sleep.
