Ordered Pairs Objective:Find how to graph ordered pairs

Ordered Pairs An ordered pair is a pair of numbers used to locate points. They are located in quadrants Quadrants are divided by the x-axis and the y- axis into four regions in the coordinate plane.

Ordered Pairs The x-coordinate is the first number in an ordered pair. The y-coordinate is the second number

Ordered Pairs The x-coordinate goes in the x-axis The x-axis is the horizontal number line The y-coordinate goes in the y-axis The y-axis is the vertical number line

Ordered Pairs Example: Find the location of the ordered pair, (2,3) Start at the origin (0,0)

Ordered Pairs Answer:First you move 2 spaces to the right. Then move 3 spaces up.
