FOOD AND ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES The department is the recognized competent authority for the regulation and control of various fish and fishery products, both nationally and internationally Fai participates worldwide with other regulatory bodies EG FDA,DOF, AQSIQ,CFIA, etc.

Non-conforming products are embargoed with a Directive served on the Importer / Operator and can only be: re-worked / re-labeled before sale destroyed where product is unsafe or unsuitable for trading, returned to country of origin where there is not a clear food safety problem Sanctions
