Washing machines Audio/visual Aircons Dish washers SANS SANS 1695 SANS 62087 Tumble dryers SANS 50242 SANS – STANDBY POWER FOR OTHER PRODUCTS SANS 61121 VC 9008 SANS 941 EE SANS 62552 SANS 50229 SANS 62552 Washer dryers SANS Electric ovens Freezers Refrigerators

15 PHASES OF IMPLEMENTATION
PROMULGATE 28 NOVEMBER 2014, AND BECAME EFFECTIVE IN THREE PHASES PHASE 1 – For audio and video equipment implemented May 2015 Phase 2 – implemented - 26th May 2016 – For all other products mentioned in the compulsory specification e.g Refrigerators , Freezers, Ovens, Washing Machines, Tumble dryers, Combi Washer Dryer and Dish washers. PHASE 3 – (Air conditioners) – implemented 28th May 2017.

16 VC9008 – ENERGY EFFICIENCY - MEPS
AUDIO AND VIDEO EQUIPMENT - ONLY PASSIVE STANDBY AND IT MUST NOT EXCEED 1W EXCEPT FOR SET TOP BOXES LIMIT IS 3W. Air conditioners - minimum efficiency rating Class B Washing Machine - minimum efficiency rating Class A Dish washer - minimum efficiency rating Class A Tumble Dryer - minimum efficiency rating Class D Electric ovens - minimum efficiency rating Class B large and A for S &M Refrigerators and Freezers - minimum efficiency rating Class B Freezers - minimum efficiency rating Class C Combi Washer Dryer - minimum efficiency rating Class A Water Heater (Geysers) - minimum efficiency rating Class B 8/24/2019

17 EE VERSUS SAFETY APPLICATIONS
PREFERABLE THAT BOTH SAFETY AND EE LOA APPLICATIONS BE MADE UNDER THE SAME SR NUMBER. WHERE EE TRAINING HAS BEEN FULLY CONDUCTED, NO SAFETY OR EE LOA WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT THE OTHER (VIRSA VERSA) THE APPLICATION CLASSIFIED AS THE LOW RISK BECAUSE OF BEING A RENEWAL FOR SAFETY MIGHT END UP BEING CLASSIFIED AS HIGH RISK BECAUSE OF THE NEW VC FOR EE.

18 THE END THANK YOU
