ORCA Oregon's Reader’s Choice Awards The 2015 Winners and 2016 Nominees Presenters: Nina Kramer, Multnomah County Library; Karren Timmermans, Pacific University; Jessica R. Marie, Salem Public Library

What is ORCA?  Founded in 2010  Fun and exciting way for Oregon youth in grades 3-12 to become enthusiastic and discriminating readers  Students choose their favorite book in a real- life democratic process

How are the books chosen?  Must be nominated  Copyright date of two years prior to when the ballots are announced  Nominations are reviewed by ORCA committee of librarians and educators  ORCA committee creates the final ballots

Who may vote? Oregon students in grades 3-12 When does voting take place? March
