Burnout and Overload Recognize It and Overcome It. Dr. Christina P. Venable

What are the signs of overload? Overload creates a wrong assessment – when we are overloaded we are no longer look at our goals, we are looking for an EXIT! No one is immune to burnout Whether it is in your family life, you social life, your work life, or any aspect of your circle, you can become overloaded!

We must learn how to identify burnout within ourselves, as well as others. Learn to communicate with others so that they can understand Thought Action Habit Thoughts Become Actions Actions Become Habits Habits Become Character Remember…

We overload ourselves when we work beyond our function Attempting something before you are ready for it Fighting with others Not sorting our priorities Setting unreasonable goals We take on other people’s work What Creates Burnout In Our Lives?

Overcoming Burnout Stop and take a break from your routine. (vacation, day trip, working on a hobby, or just walking outside for a few moments to clear your thoughts) Recognize the difference you are making in the lives of others (know your value) Surround yourself with positive people (positive influences will boost your outlook) Schedule your work tasks so that you are not overwhelmed but you can see your progress of each task Leave work at the door when you leave the office (allow your mind free time while not at work) Journal your frustrations, then journal your blessings Go to sleep every night with expectation for a new opportunity in the morning.

Self-care is not selfish…you cannot serve from an empty vessel As the sun sets every evening, face the West, let go of the things that burdened and discouraged you…Then thank the creator for the blessings you received, and those you are expecting tomorrow!
