2. You and your family have decided to move West
You and your family have decided to move West. There are many opportunities waiting for you there.

Make a slide presentation to show to other families that might want to come with you. Include the following slides in your presentation:

Decide why your family wants to moves West, and which route you will take to get there.

Make a map so you won’t get lost along the way. Be sure to remember that access to water is important. Are there mountains you will have to climb? Will this take you longer?

7. Slide 4 Time Line
Make a time line for your travel. How long will it take you to get to your destination? Will you have enough food? When will you have to leave to avoid winter storms? Will there be plenty of water, enough to drink and wash with?

8. Slide 5 List of Supplies
Make a list of supplies you will need to make your trip? Be sure to consider how many people are in your family, will you have enough money to buy the supplies you need and will there be room to take it all with you? With these things in mind make your list be as small as possible so traveling will be easier, but you will still be able to survive.

9. Slide 6 Camp Rules
Make a list of 5 camp rules that will keep you safe on your journey. List them in order of importance and be sure to defend each rule so all will want to do them.

Make journal entries of your trip. What was it like getting ready, first day of travel, something hard you overcame along the way, did anyone you know die and why, did you make it? What is life like now you have arrived?
