Life Cycle Eggs – Pear-shaped & white – 300 in one female’s lifetime – Attach to surfaces & hatch within days Nymphs – “Young” bedbugs – Smaller & lighter in color – Stage lasts 6 weeks Adult

Bedbug Feeding Live on human or animal blood Feed at night Pierce skin and suck blood Feed for 3-12 minutes Swell and turn bright red after feedings Can live over a year without feeding

Bedbug Bites Similar to mosquito bites Red with darkened center May take a few days to show up

Bedbug Bites Symptoms – Itching – Swelling – Painless Common Sites – Arms & Legs – Face & Neck Treatment – Soap and water – Anti-itch cream (to avoid scratching) – Should resolve within 3-10 days without treatment
