Physics Section 5.4 Define “power” Power- is the rate at which work is done or energy is transformed. P = W ∆t P = power (watts) W = work (J) t = time (s) The unit of power is the watt. A watt is a joule per second. The “horsepower” is another unit of power. 1 hp = 746 watts.
